The East Campus Bed & Breakfast is located along one of the few remaining exposed brick streets in the city, in the oldest in-tact portion of the East Campus Neighborhood Historic District.
Located one half block from the University of Missouri, two blocks to numerous downtown entertainment, shopping, dining, and drinking establishments, three blocks to Stephens College and Stephens Lake Park (home of the annual Roots n Blues n BBQ festival), the house is recognized by the City of Columbia as a Notable Historic Property.
The historic Foursquare styled homer retains much of its character with built-ins and beautiful wood detailing, lots of natural light, open common areas, a lovely east balcony, and well appointed garden spaces.
From 1860 to the 1950s, the neighborhood featured large homes owned and occupied by professors and professionals. By the 1950s, the need to house a growing population of college students attracted investors who subdivided many of the houses into rooms for rent. The East Campus Bed & Breakfast property had been one such home until the early 1990s. In the early 1990s the home was converted into a country-inn styled bed and breakfast under a name different than today and under a couple of different owners. The first B&B business closed in mid-2016. At the start of 2017 new owners invested in updates to the house to make for a modern, clean aesthetic with modern technology, then launched a new bed and breakfast for the adult business and leisure traveler looking for a gourmet, healthy, quiet, relaxing, mid-luxury experience.
